Cebu City bettor claims 16M Lotto jackpot prize
MANILA, Philippines – A regular lotto player from Central Visayas finally claimed his 16-M jackpot prize in the 6/42 lotto draw last March 9, 2023, at the PCSO Main Office last April 9, 2023.
The winner bought his ticket at a lotto outlet in Cebu City, where he placed his bet on the number combination 06-18-26-29-17-11, which won the jackpot of 16, 319, 245.20.
“Ilang beses ko tiningnan ang ticket ko dahil hindi ako makapaniwala. Sa oras na iyon, abot abot ang aking pasasalamat sa Diyos dahil sa blessings na ito, at sa PCSO dahil kung hindi sa lotto di po ako mananalo. Salamat po sa PCSO.”
He plans to use the money to help his family, invest in a business, and donate to charitable organizations.
As provided under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, lotto winnings of more than 10,000.00 shall be subject to a 20% tax. Under the PCSO Charter, winnings should be claimed within one year from the draw date; otherwise, they will be forfeited to form part of the PCSO Charity Fund.
Moreover, PCSO assures the public that it will uphold transparency and accountability in its lottery draw operations. It also urged the public to support the agency’s gaming products to raise additional revenue for health initiatives, medical services, and other national charities.
