MANILA, Philippines – Winning the lottery was a dream come true for a small business owner from Quezon City.
He was the lone winner of the ₱20,523,660.60 jackpot in the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw held on August 25, 2025, at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Main Office in Mandaluyong City.
The winning ticket for a combination 40-05-16-03-20-27 was purchased from a lotto outlet in Barangay Payatas B, Quezon City.
The winner revealed that the numbers were inspired by a dream he had in May this year. Since then, he consistently placed bets using the same digits until his persistence paid off this August.
He plans to allocate a portion of his prize in a time deposit, invest in a new business, and set aside funds for his children’s education.
He also shared that he had long believed in the legitimacy of the lottery, as a friend of his had won a jackpot years ago.
Although he rarely played before because winning seemed difficult, his dream encouraged him to take the chance with those numbers. He further advised the public to remain hopeful and responsible when playing, saying that perseverance and the right opportunity could make all the difference.
The PCSO reminds winners to claim their prizes within one year of the draw date. Under the TRAIN Law, prizes above ₱10,000 are subject to a 20% tax. To claim, winners must present the original signed winning ticket and two valid government-issued IDs at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong.
