God is so good: Cancer survivor wins Php 50M in Lotto 6/42

MANILA, Philippines – “Ako na yata ang pinaka-maswerteng tao sa mundo dahil mahal ako ng Diyos!”, said the 74-year-old cancer survivor as he claimed the Lotto 6/42 jackpot prize of 50,796,013.00 at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City on March 3, 2023, which he won with his winning combination 26-14-11-08-07-22 drawn on February 28, 2023.

The lucky winner is an avid patron of the lotto since 1998 and according to him, his winning set of numbers were from combinations of birthdates and birth months of family members.

“Napakatagal ko ng sumusubok sa lotto, simula 1998 ay tumataya na ako. Numero yan ng mga kaarawan at buwan ng kapanganakan namin pamilya. Iyang lumabas na numero ay isang taon ko ng inaalagaan,” he recalled.

The winner is well-aware of the Charity programs of PCSO as he was one of the beneficiaries of medical assistance when he had cancer, saying “Napakalaki ng utang na loob ko sa PCSO dahil noon pa man ay nakakahingi na ako ng tulong sa aking pagpapagamot kasama na ang operasyon ko sa kidney noon 2017. Maraming-maraming salamat din sa Diyos dahil hindi ako pinabayaan. Ginawa mong kasangkapan ang PCSO para madugtungan ang buhay ko at para mapaganda ang buhay namin ng aking mga anak. Sadyang napakabuti mo Panginoon.”

All prizes above 10,000.00 are subject to a 20% final tax pursuant to the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.

Also, PCSO reminds the public that all winning tickets should be claimed within one (1) year from the conducted draw date, otherwise, it will be forfeited to form part of the PCSO Charity Fund in accordance with the PCSO Charter (RA 1169).
